1963 Safari Station Wagon

1963 Land-Rover Safari Station Wagon

This ten-passenger machine was featured in the film, "All in the Army" starring Robin Williams. It has undergone extensive professional, although not complete mechanical restoration, including a rebuild of the hydraulic and exhaust systems with all new components where required, a fuel tank restoration, recent carburetor, fuel pump, dynamo, distributor, coil, etc. The tires have good tread and the suspension is strong and the vehicle sits level on the ground. The engine is strong and very quiet and the gear box and four wheel drive are all in good working order. Being an ex-California Land-Rover the rust is minimal and the chassis is virtually perfect. The body work is 96% with only minor issues on the driver's door and the left wing front, with perhaps 8 hours clean up in the body shop. Glass is all good, but the window channel and weather stripping on & around the doors should be replaced, as should the body seals. The interior and paint work is ready for restoration, which makes this Land-Rover precisely what we have been asked for incessantly for the past decade: a machine with superlative mechanical needing finishing by the new owner. Please call for additional particulars & we shall do our best to fill you in on any and all details.
